Temple Wars and Sealing Campaign

The Temple (~3200 AR)

The Temple of Primordial Evil was established ~3200 AR — the same year as the Peace of Terenei — as the home of Aerom Latan, a child husband of the Mother of Monsters, dispatched to the South Forest to anchor a permanent seed of her presence in the region.

The communities of Bulb and Scrambledough grew around the temple's strange energies over the following centuries, drawn both by the supernatural pull of the site and by the Nordwall–Hodoronk trade route that passed through the area. Bulb began as an imperial army supply node — a campaign town for passing armies — and the Mother's cult took deep root in its transient population.

The Sealing (~4504 AR)

The final campaign to destroy the temple was the last act of the crusading era. Prince Eltram led the armies of Ulek into the South Forest with the intent of sealing Aerom Latan permanently and breaking the Mother's foothold.

The cost was absolute. By fighting against a divine compact — the Godly agreement that had ceded certain territories to the Mother of Monsters — the mortal armies forfeited their right to leave. Eltram and his entire host were sealed inside the temple alongside Aerom Latan.

The seal holds a second meaning: if it ever breaks, the compact is void — and Prince Eltram walks free to return and reclaim the throne of Ulek.

Reactivation (4723 AR)

Iceflame-backed operatives began covert reactivation of the temple approximately one year before the current campaign. The temple now functions as both a ritual nexus and a geopolitical weapon under the Ember Testament operational framework.
