Overview

The Iceflame Queen is a Caligni — a descendant of humans trapped underground during the Age of Strife, transformed by generations of isolation in the Ancient Paths, sustained through dark rituals and the covenant with the Lord of Deception.

She is the Lord of Deception's chosen instrument on the surface: the agent through whom the dissolution of civilization's foundations has been made active, visible, and catastrophic.

Origin

Her people — the Caligni — were driven underground during the Age of Strife by the Mother of Monsters' creatures and the frozen-wind calamities. In the deepest reaches of the Ancient Paths, they found the Lord of Deception and entered his covenant. Generations of his influence shaped them: pale, dark-adapted, shadow-magic practitioners who extended their lives through unholy ritual and cultivated an absolute hatred for the ordered surface world.

The Iceflame Queen rose from among them as the most powerful and most driven — the one willing to ascend to the surface and act.

Mission

Her stated mission: destroy the followers of both aspects of the Earth Mother — the Earth Mother and the Mother of Monsters alike. Her disruption of the giant compact, which pitted the two aspects against each other, was a deliberate strategic move.

Destroying the followers of the Keymaster and the Dwarfather is, in her own words, a welcomed bonus.
